Petra has experience as an autism teacher in both public and private day schools and as an administrator at a private day school for children with autism in Richmond, VA. She earned a master’s degree in special education from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2011, completed postgraduate coursework through Florida Institute of Technology in 2013, and became a board certified and licensed behavior analyst in 2014. She specializes in teaching functional communication to children and young adults ages 2-22 and has served individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and a variety of emotional, neurological, and genetic disorders since 2007. She enjoys collaborating with families and related service providers to form creative solutions to the challenges children encounter.
